Tucked discreetly away from the roadside, Château Écrin de Lumière reveals itself at the end of a beautiful oak-lined drive. As you rise gently toward the hilltop, the estate slowly unfolds – a glimpse of timeless charm and elegance.
Just as my own heart was captured back in the spring of 2019, when I first discovered this château, I invite you to share in that same feeling of wonder.
Here, nature surrounds you: a quiet stream, a tranquil lake, acres of woodland, open parkland, and the château’s own gardens. Only 15 minutes from Bergerac, on the road toward Périgueux, the estate is a haven from which to explore the Dordogne Valley.
Perfectly placed between Brantôme-en-Périgord, often called the “Green Venice,” and La Roque-Gageac, one of the most beautiful villages in France – the château invites you to relax, explore, or simply follow your own rhythm.

A story, a meeting
This elegant chartreuse-style château is built in local limestone and flanked by two distinctive towers. A magnificent 200m² south-facing terrace extends the house, catching the sun from morning to evening.
The former farm buildings and family lodgings encircle the inner courtyard, complete with a well and mature lime trees – creating a tranquil setting that reflects the authentic character of the Périgord region.
Three years of careful restoration, carried out with traditional Périgord craftsmanship, have brought the château back to its noble beauty.
Our electricity is 100% green, and all sanitation water comes directly from the lake – an environmentally responsible choice we are proud to uphold 🌱.
History of the Estate
The domain once formed part of the lands of the Dukes of La Rochefoucauld.
On 9 October 1709, Jean Tauva sold the property to Marc Antoine Favareihles de Salignac, who commissioned the construction of the château’s central building, completed in 1727 after the previous structures were demolished.
One of his descendants, Jacques Gontier Cluseau du Soulas, born 1 June 1771, served as a Knight of the Order of Saint Louis and as Gatekeeper to King Louis XVIII. He later became Mayor of Campsegret from 1820 to 1834. His initials “G.S.” still appear on the wrought-iron gate of the château’s main kitchen – a quiet reminder of the estate’s long and fabled past.
A Life Filled with Stars
Your host, Christophe Brézac, was born in Bergerac and raised in the nearby countryside of Beleymas. After studying in Grenoble, he and his brother took over the family fireworks company, founded in the 1960s.
Over the next 25 years, their company – Brezac Artifices – grew to international recognition, lighting up skies across France and around the world.
A Vision Rooted in Values
After years spent creating magic in the sky, Christophe felt drawn back to the quiet beauty of the Dordogne. He dreamed of creating a place where people from around the world could reconnect with authenticity, nature and the simple pleasures of life.
A place for epicureans, like himself, to unwind, savour time, and enjoy good food and good company.
A passionate cook and a generous host, Christophe prepares meals that celebrate local produce, regional wines, and seasonal flavours. He finds joy in sharing his home, his table, and a little of his life with every guest.

Un menu full of flavours
The château’s dining room is elegantly dressed with bronze sconces, silk drapery, Murano glass chandeliers and crisp white linens. It’s a wonderful setting for a lovingly prepared meal, one you’ll want to savour slowly and linger over long after the plates are cleared. Or in the summer you may choose to dine outdoors on the panoramic terrace.
Before your stay, we discuss your preferences and design your menu accordingly: red meat, poultry, fish, vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free. Every dish is crafted from local produce, including farm ingredients, market finds, and the château’s own garden.
We even use organic flour made from heritage wheat varieties, milled by a local farmer.
Our carefully curated French wine selection includes sweet or dry whites, reds, rosés and fine bubbles from Champagne (to be enjoyed in moderation).

Come in, step forward, you will see all the different shades of deep blue, an imperial tone. Take a dive into a world of rare elegance where poetic, airy notes mingle, like the triptych of golden birds, a nod to Josephine’s passion and above all a magnificent allegory offered by our owners to celebrate Napoleon’s love for his beloved Josephine.

Located on the first floor of the castle in the west wing, accessible by a staircase, the Apolline suite is the largest suite in the château. This magnificent suite benefits from a large bedroom, a small lounge, and a very beautiful and spacious bathroom with a sumptuous bathtub, chaise longue and walk-in shower.
The Apolline suite is adorned with fuchsia shades. Signature of its vibrant audacity. This suite is as charismatic and enchanting as the goddess who inspired it. A suite with the romantic charm of our Apolline.

Located on the second floor of the château in the east wing, delighted in a mystical ambiance. Welcome to the Lucie room. Sumptuous and enigmatic, this room skilfully plays on the contrasts of yellow and black with great extravagance.
Baroque is king here. A sophisticated, warm atmosphere, which imparts a touch of sensuality to the whole. Mirror, mirror on the wall, this one almost reminds us of a tale… Look how strange this surprising mechanical owl is, what is it telling us? Wherever are we? It’s up to you to imagine and experience it!

Moments inoubliables au Château Ecrin de lumière avec Christophe notre hôte ! Le domaine est incroyable de beauté. Pour les amoureux de la nature, le coup de foudre est assuré.
Merveilleux! Quel joyau caché en Dordogne. Un vieux château du XVIIIe siècle aménagé avec goût et fidélité, avec une attention aux détails que l'on retrouve dans chaque recoin. Christophe nous a réservé un accueil chaleureux et a rendu notre week-end parfait. L'odeur de la cheminée et les madeleines fraîches sorties du four que nous avons reçues à notre arrivée nous ont immédiatement mis à l'aise. Le soir, il nous a gâtés avec un menu à 4 plats, ce dîner au coin du feu a été l'un de nos moments forts. Le petit-déjeuner du lendemain matin était également incroyable, avec tellement de choix et bien plus que ce que vous pouvez gérer - tous des ingrédients locaux et de haute qualité. Ensuite, nous avons passé un bon moment dans le nouveau spa composé d'un hammam et d'un sauna.
Nous avons pré-réservé cet endroit pour notre mariage en mai et avons hâte de célébrer ici avec notre famille et nos amis.

Nous venons de rentrer d'un merveilleux séjour au Château Ecrin de Lumière, Campsegret, un luxe vraiment calme et au-dessus de nos attentes. Hébergement et installations extrêmement propres et luxueux, spa, salle de sport et massages, ainsi qu'une superbe piscine, le tout entouré de nature et de forêt.
Christophe est un hôte si doux et attentionné, qui répond à nos besoins et nous fait nous sentir si bien. Nous avons pris des petits déjeuners et des dîners si qualitatifs et savoureux qu'il nous a cuisiné les repas les plus délicieux avec des produits fraîchement sourcés.
La région entière est magnifique et offre beaucoup de choses à explorer, mais notre séjour au Château reste la partie la plus relaxante de nos vacances ! Merci beaucoup pour ce merveilleux séjour, nous reviendrons!

Endroit exceptionnel et propriétaire charmant le tout dans un domaine complètement refait à neuf ! Le plus beau domaine de la région.
Une expérience que nous n'oublierons pas ! Il s'agit d'un magnifique château en pierre du XVIIIe siècle, situé en retrait d'une route tranquille, au cœur d'un domaine de 20 hectares. Il comprend deux ailes de trois étages pour les invités, reliées entre elles par la salle à manger, la bibliothèque et la salle de jeux. Le lieu est à 30 minutes de Périgueux et à 15 minutes de Bergerac. Christophe est un hôte généreux et discret qui apparaît comme par magie si besoin. Nous avions l'impression d'avoir le château pour nous seuls malgré la présence de quelques autres hôtes sympathiques. Notre chambre « Lucie », au dernier étage, était décorée avec goût, avec un lit douillet et une grande et belle salle de bain avec baignoire sur pieds, douche séparée et WC. Un excellent petit-déjeuner est inclus, mais nous avons également opté pour le dîner le soir de notre arrivée. Christophe l'a également préparé lui-même : fruits frais, girolles sautées sur toast, puis une salade de trois variétés de tomates séparées par de la mozzarelle et arrosée de vinaigrette et de vinaigre balsamique, puis un plat de steak ou de poulet servi avec des frites et des légumes sautés, et enfin un tiramisu maison. Une grande partie de ces vins provient des jardins de Christophe. La carte des vins est excellente, à des prix très raisonnables, avec notamment de bons vins de Bergerac. Ai-je mentionné la superbe piscine et la possibilité de se promener dans les champs ? Christophe s'efforce également de créer une exploitation écologique et efficace malgré les commodités, notamment grâce à un champ solaire discrètement installé derrière le château. Conclusion : c'est un lieu magique.

Un séjour agréable. Le propriétaire, Christophe, était incroyablement sympathique et arrangeant, toujours prêt à tout pour rendre notre séjour aussi confortable et agréable que possible. Les installations sont superbes : nous avons passé une agréable journée au bord de la piscine et profité du hammam. Le propriétaire nous a servi des repas faits maison dans différents endroits pittoresques de la propriété. C'est incroyablement propre et tout fonctionne parfaitement. La maison et les chambres regorgent de petites attentions et de détails intéressants, et la propriété offre une vue et des promenades époustouflantes.
